Solarii Fortress - Skirmish in the Throne Room - Part 2

After you've killed the first group of enemies, a checkpoint registers and a brief cut scene shows 2 armored enforcers entering. One has a pole arm, the other a rifle.

Avoid the burning floor on the north side of the room as you fight. When dealing with armored opponents, try to concentrate fire on one part of their body. You need to eliminate their armor, then do additional damage to finish them off. Most importantly, don't let them both gang up on you. Lara moves faster than they do, so quickly run away from the starting position near the incense burner...

...and hide behind a column. The man with the pole arm will move in, and you can take him out with the shotgun and/or a melee attack.

For the Dodge Counter (provided you've unlocked this skill), keep your weapon drawn. (Here I like the shotgun.) Wait for the guy with the pole arm to come around the column toward you. When he lunges, contnue to hold Aim to keep your weapon trained on him. Then press Dodge/Roll while moving to either side.

If your dodge is successful, the Melee icon appears on screen, just like in the quick time events. Press Melee (F/Triangle/Y) in time with the prompt (i.e., wait for the gray circle to to contract into the inner ring and the Melee icon to appear, then press the button).

If you manage to do that, the Dodge Counter icon flashes briefly on screen, as shown above.

There's no need to do anything now. Lara takes over, inflicting a crippling blow to the guy's leg.

This doesn't kill him but does throw him off balance. Blast him twice with the shotgun to finish him off.

Then deal with the rifleman from a distance. When he falls, the fight is over.
