If you experience the PC/Steam game error "Unable to load Profile! Your Progress will not be saved until a profile is selected," try this:

1. Start the game and dismiss the error message.
2. Create a new profile with different name than your old one:
1. From the main menu, select 'Change Profile'.
2. On the next screen, select 'New Profile'.
3. Type in a name for the new profile and click 'OK'.
3. Click 'Exit Game' then 'Yes' to exit to the desktop.
4. Now find the folder for the new profile you just created. It should be in
   
   C:\Users\username\Documents\Eidos\Tomb Raider - Anniversary
   
   (In the actual path, 'username' is your username and C: is the drive containing the Windows Documents folder. If you have more than one hard drive, this may be D:, E:, etc. If you have an older version of Windows, 'Documents' may be called 'My Documents.')
5. Inside the 'Tomb Raider - Anniversary' folder, you should find subfolders for both the old and new profiles. Open the folder for your old profile and copy all of the files inside.
6. Open the folder for the new and paste all of those files there, overwriting any existing files.
7. Start the game again and make sure the new profile is selected. (If the new profile name is not listed at the top of the main menu, select 'Change Profile'. On the next screen, select the name of the new profile.)
8. You should now be able to start a new game, skip the intro cutscenes, and then, once the game loads, press Esc to open the pause menu. From there, select 'Load' and choose whichever save you want to play.

If you have not saved the game other than the autosave, you can download save files for any level here. Instructions are linked from that page. Note that in TR Anniversary, the artifacts and relics you've found are stored in the Profile.TRAProfile file, not in the individual save files, so you'll also need to download a Profile.TRAProfile file if you want the game to count everything you found in earlier levels.

I recommend saving the game manually every so often as you go along, just in case. (Press Esc, select 'Save,' select 'New Saved Game,' type in name, press Enter.)
