After the cutscene, you begin just in front of the throne, with the 2 GUARDIANS ahead on the left and right. It takes a boatload of ammo to kill these guys, but at least you can fight them one at a time.

The guardian on the right doesn't move at first.

The one on the left immediately begins shooting blue energy bolts. Here are several ways of dealing with them:

Move forward a little and turn left, so you can get a clear shot at the first guardian. Then fire about 7 explosive arrows or grenades to destroy it. It will be shooting back at you, so use a medipack if necessary.

When it explodes, the second guardian animates. Run to the other side of the throne...

...and use the same tactics to deal with it.

- OR -

If you're out of explosives, or just want to conserve them, run out into the room, face the guardian on the left, and fire with Uzis or pistols as you flip back and forth to avoid the energy bolts.

This takes a while with pistols, but as long as you keep moving like this, the guardian won't leave its alcove, and Lara will take minimal damage.

When the first guardian falls...

...roll and repeat with the second, using a health pack or two if necessary.

- OR -

When the cutscene ends, run down the steps, turn left, and run straight at the first guardian, taking a few hits in the process.

Quickly crouch in front of it. Draw pistols and just keep the Fire button depressed. The guardian will continue shooting energy bolts over Lara's head, causing her little or no damage.

Eventually it will fall and you can roll, run/jump across the room...

...crouch in front of the second guardian and continue firing with pistols...

...until he also falls.

- OR -

When the cutscene ends, run/jump straight across the room toward the entrance. Run up the ramp...

...and around the corner to the left. The guardians won't follow, and Lara will be safe there.

NOTE: The door leading back to the room with the golden statue is closed now, so you can't escape that way.

The guardian on the left (since you're now facing the throne) is not active at first. So don't bother targeting it. Sidestep out just far enough to get a lock on the first guardian...

...and shoot it with about 7 explosive arrows (or use Uzis or pistols). Its energy bolts should be absorbed by the stairs, but if Lara starts taking damage, retreat into the hallway, wait for the guardian move away, and try again.

If the first guardian moves back toward the throne (or anywhere Lara won't automatically target it), don't bother shooting or you'll waste ammo. Either run out into the room to get its attention then run back to safety, or reload and try again.

When the first guardian explodes, move out a little farther...

...so you can target the second guardian. Then repeat the process.
